Office
O:SNAP is an architectural design and project management firm, which was founded by Christoph Hinterreiter (A) and Gerd Wochein (A) in 2007. With partner offices in Austria, Bosnia and Croatia projects in SEE and Austria are being implemented. Prior to founding O:SNAP, Christoph Hinterreiter and Gerd Wochein worked for various NGO’s and international organizations as e.g. The Office of the High Representative in BiH and the BiH War Crimes Chamber Project. During this time, projects in the amount of 100 million euro were implemented.
O:SNAP follows two concurrent activities. One is the provision of project management services in order to positively influence building processes from an early stage on and to respond to the need for experts, managing the soaring complexity of building processes. The second activity is based on the classical scope of work of architects. This results in contributions at various levels – from facilitation of communication processes over development of designs and provision of supervision services to the creation of essays about architecture.
The interest of the office to work in SEE originates from the unique spatial heritage of the region and the ongoing transitional processes, which have redefined (not only) the built environment. The architectural production of O:SNAP is derived from the initial analysis of project specific phenomena and the consequential development of conceptual programs. By merging architectonic archetypes with contemporary values the office endorses the exploration of new architectural meanings.
